If you sell LEGO on more than one platform, you already know the feeling: you list a minifigure on BrickLink, someone buys it on Bol.com first, and now you have an order you can't fulfil.
Overselling is one of the biggest operational headaches for multi-channel LEGO sellers. It damages your reputation, costs you negative feedback, and wastes time managing cancellations. The more platforms you sell on, the worse it gets.
Why overselling happens
The core problem is that each marketplace operates in its own silo. BrickLink has no idea what's happening on Bol.com. Shopify doesn't know your BrickLink stock just changed. If you update stock manually — opening each tab in turn — there's always a lag. A sale can slip through in that gap.
Most sellers start with a spreadsheet or a mental count. That works when you have 100 lots. At 1,000 lots across 4 platforms, it breaks down entirely.
The manual approach (and why it fails)
Some sellers run a "master stock" spreadsheet and update each platform after every sale. The discipline required is unsustainable:
- You have to update 3–6 platforms every time something sells
- If a sale comes in while you're sleeping, other platforms are still showing stock
- Bulk updates are error-prone — a paste in the wrong column wipes out a platform's entire inventory
Others use a buffer: they deliberately undersell by listing only 80% of stock, so even if two platforms sell simultaneously, they have cover. This works, but it means leaving revenue on the table permanently.
Real-time sync as the solution
The only reliable fix is real-time stock synchronisation: when a sale arrives on any platform, every other platform is updated within seconds.
This requires an integration layer — software that sits between your platforms and keeps all stock counts consistent. When BrickLink confirms an order, the same product's quantity drops on Bol.com, Shopify and anywhere else it's listed, before another buyer can place an order.
With a proper sync in place:
- You can list your full stock on every platform simultaneously
- Sales on any channel immediately reduce availability everywhere else
- You're not leaving revenue on the table with artificial buffers
Managing pricing across platforms
Stock isn't the only thing that drifts. Pricing is equally painful to keep consistent. BrickLink's price guide changes over time; what was a fair price six months ago may be leaving money on the table today.
A good multi-marketplace setup lets you set pricing rules once — for example, "price at 95% of the BrickLink 6-month average" — and applies them automatically across every platform. No manual repricing, no stale prices.
What this looks like in practice
SyncaBrick was built specifically for LEGO sellers who run on multiple platforms. It connects BrickLink, Bol.com, Shopify, Vinted, eBay, BrickOwl and Marktplaats through a single dashboard. When an order comes in anywhere, stock is updated everywhere in real time.
It also includes a unified order queue — so instead of checking six different inboxes, you see every new order in one place, regardless of where it came from.
For sellers ready to stop fighting oversell fires and start scaling, that's the setup that makes it possible.
